Exporting your film

Your film is rendered in your browser, on your computer. Nothing is uploaded to do it, and it costs nothing.

Export

1. Click Render at the top right of the editor.

   

   

2. Choose a Format — MP4, MOV (ProRes) or WebM — and a Quality: High, Medium or Low. If you have set a work range, choose Full timeline or just In to out.

3. Click Export and choose where to save the file. A progress bar shows how far it has got; you can cancel at any time.

If your browser cannot encode the format you chose, the dialog says so and suggests another.

After the export

Once a file is exported, the dialog widens to show it: a preview, its size and length, and how long it took to render.

From there you can make two more versions. Both are generated, so both are paid — hover over either button to see its Estimated cost before you start, and you are charged only when the result is ready.

• Upscale to 4K — a sharper, larger copy of your film.
• Reframe — a copy at another aspect ratio, for example vertical for social media. It keeps your whole picture and generates new image at the edges, rather than cropping. Choose 1080p or 720p for a film of up to 60 seconds. 540p is a lower-cost choice for a film of up to 10 seconds, and it offers a few different ratios — including 21:9 for a cinema look — so if the ratio you picked is not among them, the closest one is chosen for you. Each reframed copy also lands in Assets, in a Reframe folder, named after your film and its ratio — for example Scene 1 — 9:16 — so you can drag it onto a timeline. You can rename or move the folder; new reframes still go into it.

Both run in the Job Queue, so you can close the dialog while they work.
