Organising assets

The Assets panel holds everything in your project: footage, sound, images, generated media and timelines.

Find an asset

• Type in Search assets… to filter by name.
• The three buttons below the search show only video, audio or images. Click the active one again to show everything.
• The sort menu orders assets by Name A-Z, Name Z-A, Type or Color.
• The two arrow buttons expand or collapse every folder at once.

Folders and colours

Right-click an empty part of the panel and choose New folder or New timeline. Right-click a folder to rename it, give it a Color, create a folder inside it, move the selected assets into it, or delete it. Deleting a folder asks first, and says how many assets and timeline clips it holds.

Drag assets onto a folder to move them. Hold a folder over another one while dragging to open it.

Generated media added to Assets goes into its own folder — Images, Shots, Voice and so on — and every reframed export lands in Reframe by itself. You can rename or move these folders; new results still go into them. Select one to see what it receives.

Right-click an asset

• Edit video — change a video with AI. See Editing a video in a project.
• Relink file… — point an offline clip at its file.
• New folder from selection — put the selected assets in a new folder.
• Copy
• Reveal in scene — jump to where the asset is used, in any timeline.
• Delete

Deleting an asset removes it from the project. The file on your computer is never touched.

Media information

Select an asset to see its details in the inspector: its duration, and for video its resolution, frame rate, codec and rotation; for audio its codec, sample rate and channels.
