cutipAI is built on a local-first architecture. Imported video, image and audio files stay on your device by default. Editing, playback, trimming and export happen on your device. Project data, such as your timeline and media references, syncs separately from the media files.
Optional cloud storage: When you enable Store automatically my imported footage in Preferences → Storage, new imports also upload in the background to private storage on our hosting provider's servers, up to your account's allowance. This switch is off by default; your saved choice is retained. You can also explicitly store individual assets or a project's footage. Turning the switch off stops automatic storage; it does not delete copies already stored. You can remove stored files in Preferences → Storage. Our import guide explains these controls.
AI generation: When you request an AI feature that needs one of your files — using a clip or photo as a reference, or lip-syncing to your own audio — the required media is uploaded and sent to the third-party AI providers who run the job. This can happen even when automatic cloud storage is off.
We collect only what is necessary to run the service and process AI generation jobs:
We use your data to authenticate your account, deduct AI credits, process generation jobs, sync your project metadata, and provide optional storage for your footage. We do not use your private prompts or generated outputs to train foundational AI models.
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your account data. However, remember that your local media security relies on the security of your own device.
We share data only with the service providers we need to run cutipAI, and only with what they need to do their job:
Some of these providers operate outside your country, so using cutipAI involves an international transfer of the data described above. We do not sell your data.
We remember the campaign parameters in an ad link, such as its campaign name and click identifier, as first-touch acquisition data when you create an account. The Meta Pixel sets advertising cookies, so it only loads after you click Accept on the cookie bar. If you decline, no Pixel or server-side purchase event is sent. You can change your choice at any time:
You can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, or delete it. You can also ask us to stop using it, or object to how we use it. To do any of these, email hello@cutipai.app.
We will respond within one month. Closing your account deletes your account data; any unused credit is forfeited on closure, so spend it first. If you are in the EU, the EEA or the UK, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
If you have a complaint about how we handle your data or about the service, you can contact our Grievance Officer directly:
